The inaugural Plein Air New Bern in 2021 was a huge success, anyway you look at it. Beautiful paintings were created, displayed and sold....each finding a new owner, eager to have original art hanging in their home to enjoy every day. Arriving with blank canvases in New Bern on the morning of May 10th 2021, each artist started the race to create a brand-new body of work in just 5 days.
Wet canvases were displayed and sold daily -fresh off the easel and displayed at the exhibition gallery, opened 9 daily at New Bern Farmers Market 421 S Front St then they went home....way too soon. But, you have to leave to return....and return they will!! May 2022 these artists will be returning to join newly juried artists and the race will begin again. Like all of us in New Bern, these artists fell in love with this special place and relished painting the beauty and history unique to this area. Thank you and stay safe until your return.
